Theatre Odyssey is pleased to announce eight finalists for its Ten-Minute Play Festival, being held this year on April 6-8. Board member Catherine Randazzo will be the Artistic Director for the 2012 festival, now in its seventh year.
The 2012 playwright finalists are:
- Marvin Albert: All Too Soon
- Stephen Cooper: Confessions a Deux
- Dan Higgs: Just Perfect
- Connie Kauffman: Conflict’s Resolution
- Arthur Keyser : The Visitor
- Jeffery Kin: Twilight at the Memorial Grove
- Connie Schindewolf: Layaway
- Bernard Yanelli: Not Our Time
“As always, our jury was faced with a difficult task,” remarked Randazzo. “We received over 70 terrific submissions from which these 8 finalists were selected. Now comes the fun of casting and rehearsing, as we prepare for the festival”.
All finalist are from the Gulf Coast community. Many have been recognized within local theater circles, some regionally and nationally.
This year’s festival will be held at the Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe Theater at 1646 10th Way in Sarasota. Performances of the ten-minutes plays will be at 8:00 pm on April 6 and 7th. There will be a Sunday matinee at 2:00 pm and winners will be announced at that time. Tickets are $15.00.
